Define your products and group them into Warehouses.
You enter your Products into the Logsteer by creating Product records. The Product record contains the product name and important information about the product, such as its subtype or code (part number).
Product is item of sale, build, delivery or service. For different businesses Products are different things.
To create a Product record:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | This is product part number. It uniquely identifies product and typically matches your inventory number of that product. |
| Name | This is Product name that is shown across the Logsteer. |
| Subtype | Categorizes your product and systemizes it into logical order. |
| Supplier | Pick exiting or create new vendor for particular product. Can be blank. Optionally shown in Order line items. |
| Unit of measure | Define a UaM for your product. Can be blank. Optionally shown in Order line items. |
A new unit of measure called Instance has been added and is available to all companies in the system. This unit allows only quantity values of 1 (default) or 0.
Typical use cases:
When assigning the "Instance" unit, the product type must be set to "Instance".
Product subtypes are important and play significant role in business process. Subtypes do not necessary have to reflect real life categorization of an product. You should think about it as logical segmentation of Product types.
Product subtypes can be later used when configuring Order Management Flows thus further granulating ordering process and restricting action in single Order to just one Product Subtype. Find out more in Order Lifecycle.
To manage Product subtypes:
A Product Warehouse serves as a compilation of Products within your business.
Each Warehouse can encompass one or multiple products, with every individual Product being optionally to be affiliated with at least one Warehouse (though it can also be associated with multiple Warehouses).
This Warehouse system is designed to enhance your Order Management processes by enabling you to refine Orders to a specific Warehouse. For instance, this functionality allows you to facilitate sales of distinct products through designated sellers.
To create a Product Warehouse record:
Below is a table that provides an overview and meaning of the columns within the warehouse:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | Pulled from the product definition. |
| Name | Pulled from the product definition. |
| Subtype | Pulled from the product definition. |
| Supplier | Pulled from the product definition. |
| Unit of Measure | Pulled from the product definition. |
| Reserved | Shows the total reserved quantity of this product in the given warehouse across all orders. |
| Quantity | Displays the quantity of the given product in stock. |
| Action | Contains a button Set Quantity that allows entry of a new available quantity of this product in the warehouse. Contains a button Remove that removes the link of this product from the given warehouse, i.e., indicates that the product no longer belongs to that warehouse. |
Your warehouse has been upgraded with new features that allow for even better organization and inventory management. All existing functions remain available, and we have added new capabilities for faster and easier operation.
